How does this happen while at war?

HEY MY NAME IS LINDSAY, AND IM WRITING THIS MESSAGE IN HOPE SOMEONE OF YOU MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ME SOME HELP.MY COUSIN LUCAS WAS SHOT IN AFGAN...AND IS NOW PARALIZED. MY AUNT AND FAMILY ARE HAVING A HARD TIME BECUASE THE FAMILY IS VERY SPLIT ON THE "RIGHT WAY TO TALK" TO LUCAS. MY AUNT (LUCAS' MOM) IS TRYING TO BE AS REALSTIC AS POSSIBLE BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS FILLING LUCAS' HEAD WITH FALSE HOPE AND TELLIN HIM HE’LL BE CURED WITHIN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS.

My son has been out of Army since 8/09. Served in Iraq and Afg both. Lost his father in January of this year(2011) and bombed spring semester of college due to this tragedy in his life. He has been earnestly seeking employment since May, but having no luck whatsoever. The local workforce does not seem to have a VA Specialist. He is located near Kerrville, Texas. Any suggestions?

Ok so i jsut found this site and thought it might help... here is my story.... I married my high school sweetheart, engaged at 18 married at 20 and been through 2 iraq deployments and 1 korea deployment (w no midtour) we seems so happy for so long like this is what we wanted then we got to Fort Stewart we loved it so much... but during what we call the 1st war... when 3rd ID invaded iraq it changed us so much we both lost soooo many close friends , and then came the second deployment..

Hello all. I am hoping for some help & support here. My name is Tara & I am a spouse of a soldier in the Army. We will be married 10 years next week. He is currently in Iraq, due home next month. This is his 3rd tour to Iraq & this has definitely been the worst deployment. My current issue is: A few months ago my hubby called me & told me he was unhappy & that he just wanted to be alone. He then said he wanted to get divorced. I was so hurt & confused by this all of a sudden decision of his.

A really close buddy of mine just finished his 3 year tour in Iraq and is now "home" for good. It's been about 3 months since he returned home and up until now everything seemed fine. Very recently, he began sending these random text messages to me and some other friends telling us about the nightmares he's been having and how he has thoughts of suicide. He's been going to the VA hospital but i want to help him get better and move past the memories/nightmares he has from his time in Iraq.

Hi! I am the sister of a Iraq Veteran, (2 Tours with the 4thID). I live in NYC and I am training for the NYC Marathon this November. I have filed my articles of incorporation to start a non profit based around Military families and veterans and our Fitness needs/goals.
I am looking to see what interest there may be to start a running group with both families/veterans and military friends to get out there and run or walk or both to combat stress and promote Health and wellness as a community!
