Our Vision-We envision a nation that grows wiser by advancing the discussion of citizen leadership in America. We envision a country that has the courage to provide returning veterans with the resources and support to become citizen leaders here at home. We envision communities that have the compassion to unite veterans and their fellow citizens in shared service.

Our Mission-To unite veterans and their fellow citizens in shared service to our nation.

We accomplish our mission through our Mission Continues Fellowship program, and Veterans Tributes and Benefits. The founding directors of the The Mission continues bring years of experience and service to the organization. Their service stretches across civil and military affairs, government service in legislative, executive, and judicial branches, international humanitarian efforts, and juvenile justice service, youth service, and involvement with veterans’ organizations.

The Mission Continues Fellowship Program is the flagship project of the Center for Citizen Leadership. Its mission is to place wounded and disabled veterans into volunteer positions in their communities. The goal is to provide service opportunities for wounded veterans who still have the desire to serve their country, but whose disabilities prevent them from continuing to serve in the military. The Mission Continues accomplishes this goal by awarding fellowships for volunteer work to veterans who have suffered severe or traumatic injuries in Iraq or Afghanistan. An average Fellowship covers 14 weeks, during which the fellow volunteers at a local charitable organization for 40 hours per week.

The Mission Continues Veterans Tribute honors our fallen military men and women by empowering citizens to complete service projects on behalf of a service member who lost his or her life in the line of duty. Through the Veterans Tribute we are continuing our military members’ mission of service – here at home. Each Tribute is tailored to match the life and interests of each fallen veteran. For example, a group of college students in a small town in Pennsylvania may renovate a park in honor of a local Marine killed in Iraq. Or a group of business professionals in Missouri might organize a care package drive and send the package to the unit of a local fallen Army soldier.

There is no greater honor,

There is no greater honor, and we should have no greater appreciation. It is because of these men and women that we live in such a great country. Think about all the luxuries in lie we have. We owe it all to them...everything.
